Having kids at home and taking care of them while you have other things to do can be at times a very hectic job. Leaving them alone even for a second can cause either chaos in your house or can be harmful to their own well- being. The only thing which might help is if they stay in one place without moving even when they are unsupervised.
And that can be achieved with movies. If the movie is interesting enough, your kid will keep stuck to the couch and you can have your self- time at least for a few hours.

Who hasn’t heard of the Toy Story movie series? I am sure every one of us at some point has watched at least one movie of the franchise. This is the fourth installment in the franchise and gives very hard competition to its predecessors.
Plot: Woody and his gang set out for a road trip with a new toy named Forky. On his way, Woody reunites with his long lost friend Bo Peep and they discuss their lives and priorities as toys. New and surprising things are discovered.
Review: A brilliant movie completed with huge fun and lots of emotions. This movie won’t be complete without the emotional parts anyway.

2. The Lion King
When it comes to Disney, as always it never disappoints us and this time there is nothing different either.
Plot: Simba is a new cub who lives in the jungle who idolizes his father, King Mufasa. He is the rightful descendant to the throne but due to conspiracies created by Mufasa’s brother, he gets evicted from his own kingdom. On his journey to get back what is rightfully his, he makes new friends and gets to learn how to get back up from rock bottom.
Review: The movie makers gave their all to make sure that the visuals and CGI come out as real as possible. During its release, this movie was talked the most about due to its visuals. With a brilliant screenplay, you will feel like you are there, in reality, watching stuff happening and experiencing.

3. Frozen 2
The second movie in the Frozen Franchise and this one is going to entertain the children as much as the first one did.
Plot: Elsa, now the queen of Arendelle, with all her powers and the authority over the kingdom, is still not settled and feels like she is missing something out. So when she hears a call, she leaves for a magical quest to find herself. And Anna, as great a sister she is, follows Elsa on her quest.
Review: With a fairytale-like setting and a great plotline, this movie will give you all the feels and if you have a sibling, you are definitely going to get emotional over this.

4. Dora and the Lost City of Gold
We all have heard about Dora the Explorer since our childhood. This movie is definitely going to make your children excited and you, nostalgic.
Plot: Dora, who has spent her whole life exploring the jungles, finds it hardest to explore the high school. She sets on a journey to save her parents with a group of friends and Boots the monkey. Along with that, she has to solve the mystery of the Lost City of Gold.
Review: The kids who grew up with the books of Dora The Explorer are going to enjoy this one a lot. This one is full of beautiful screenplay and edits which make the movie a great watch. Full of comedy and adventure and will definitely make you feel nostalgic.

5. How to Train your Dragon: The Hidden World
The third installment of the How to Train Your Dragon Franchise and is not going to disappoint you at all just as the previous installments.
Plot: Hiccup tries to reunite the Vikings with the Dragons to save the Berk island so that the Dragons could reunite with their Vikings and vice versa. But doing this he encounters some hurdles which he solves with the help of Toothless and some new friends Toothless made.
Review: With Brilliant visuals and storyline, once you start watching, this one is going to keep your whole family hooked with old and newly introduced characters and if you have hyped yourself up anticipating this movie, you are not going to get disappointed.

6. The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part
The fourth movie in The Lego Movie franchise and the sequel to the movie The Lego Movie stars Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks from the previous movie and new cast includes Tiffany Haddish and Maya Rudolph.
Plot: The movie picks up from where the previous one had left. Emmet Brickowski tries to save his kidnapped friends from the Systar System and the shape-shifting queen Watevera Wa’Nabi. He also has visions of the cataclysm “Armamageddon” which he deals with while saving his friends.
Review: After all the previous movies the expectations are high and this movie does not disappoint at all and lives up to all those expectations. This one is beautiful and heart touching and will make you choke on tears.

7. Aladdin
Who hasn’t heard the famous stories of Aladdin, his genie and princess Jasmine? This kids’ movie is going to bring all of the characters and your imagination to life.
Plot: Aladdin, A poor and young man stumbles upon Princess Jasmine, daughter of the sultan of Agrabah. When he visits the palace where the princess lives, he accidentally finds a magic oil lamp that unleashes a Genie which grants wishes. Slowly Aladdin and the genie become friends and set out on a journey to stop the evil sorcerer Jafar from taking over Princess Jasmine’s kingdom.
Review: Starring Will Smith, through this movie Disney has tried to bring out all the feels that we felt watching the old movie of Aladdin. It will make you feel good and nostalgic.

8. The Kid Who Would Be King
A fantasy adventure movie with writer and director Joe Cornish. Starring Louis Ashbourne Serkis, Tom Taylor, Rebecca Ferguson, and Patrick Stewart.
Plot: A young boy accidentally stumbles upon the Excalibur, the famous legendary sword which belonged to King Arthur. His friends and enemies become knights and join the legendary warlock Merlin to fight against the evil Enchantress Morgana and her warriors who intend to destroy mankind.
Review: A slightly different approach to the famous Arthurian Legend and it is refreshing. If you have grown up listening to the stories of the famous Arthur and Merlin, you are going to love this movie.

9. A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmagedon
This is a stand-alone sequel to the movie Shaun The Sheep Movie and is adapted from the Claymation TV series Shaun The Sheep, which was in turn adapted from 1995 Wallace and Gromit film A Close Shave created by Nick Park. A science-fiction animated comedy film.
Plot: When an alien crashes in the nearby land of Mossy Bottom Farm, Shaun the sheep makes quick friends with the intergalactic specimen.
They need to run away from a dangerous organization that wants to capture Shaun’s friend.
Review: With excellent visuals and animations, this one is with characters who are very sweet and likable and is a perfect watch for kids who are going to learn about friendship.

10. Dumbo
A live-action remake of Disney’s 1941 animated film of the name Dumbo which was adapted from the novel by Helen Aberson and Harold Pearl. This movie is directed by Tim Burton with a screenplay by Ehren Kruger.
Plot: Max Medici, a circus owner whose circus is not earning much, appoints his former employee and his two children to take care of a baby elephant who has too large ears, Dumbo. As time passes they discover that the elephant can fly, so using these talents of the elephant, Max gets his circus back up and running successfully where the main attraction is Dumbo. But unfortunately, the audience is not the only people who have eyes on Dumbo but a wealthy entrepreneur wants to get his hands on Dumbo for his entertainment venture.
Review: Dumbo might be the cutest character you would come across in the movies in a very long time. Even though there are a lot of characters without much dialogue, the baby elephant character is definitely going to win your heart with its sweetness.

11. Missing Link

Plot: Sasquatch, who is 8 feet tall, covered with fur and has been living in solitary for a very long time recruits an English Explorer named Sir Lionel Frost to guide him while travelling across the world. He sets out for the Himalayas to meet his long- lost Yeti cousins.
Review: A movie with beautiful visuals and animations, will make you laugh and will make you feel the importance of friends and family.

12. Maleficent: Mistress of Evil
With Angelina Jolie as the lead in this second installment of Maleficent movie series, the expectations have been really high and this one does not disappoint us one bit.
Plot: Young Aurora is about to get married to Prince Philip and Maleficent is asked to go and visit the groom’s parents in an old and big castle, which she is obviously reluctant about. But after a lot of convincing, when she agrees to go and visits the parents, things go very differently than expected and chaos ensues.
Review: Brilliant movie with the right amount of thrill, twists, and suspense with the addition of brilliant acting from the actors. And the grand and royal visuals always are cherry on the top.

13. The Angry Birds Movie 2
The sequel to the movie The Angry Birds Movie, this film is based on Rovio Entertainment’s Angry Birds video game series produced by Columbia Pictures, Rovio Animation, and Sony Pictures Animation. I am sure you all must have heard about the video games at some point in time, even played it.
Plot: When the Eagle island leader Zeta attacks the Piggy Island and Bird Island to take over them, Birds reluctantly join forces with the pigs to save their homes.

14. Abominable

Plot: A teenage girl named Yi, meets a young Yeti on the roof of her house in Shanghai and becomes friends with him. She and her friends Jin and Peng set out on a journey to the highest point of the Earth, The Everest to make sure that the Yeti reunites with his family. But they need to be careful of a wealthy man Burnish, and a Zoologist named Dr. Zara who are after the Yeti.
Review: With awesome visuals, this is a feel-good movie with a very sweet story that teaches the kids the importance of family and friends. A great watch for the whole family.

15. The Addams Family
This one is a little different from all of the other movies mentioned on this list. This one is a computer-animated comedy horror movie directed by Conrad Vernon and Greg Tiernan and written by Matt Lieberman and Pamela Pettler.
Plot: The Addams family which includes Gomez, Morticia, Pugsley, Wednesday, Uncle Fester, and Grandma, are waiting for their mysterious and creepy relatives to arrive. TV personality Margaux Needler wants to sell all the houses in the neighborhood where the Addams family lives but soon realizes that the mansion where the family lives is going to be the biggest hurdle in achieving her biggest dream.
Review: This movie will make you laugh and will frighten you at the same time. The character development and the layers added to them is the USP of this movie and will keep you hooked to the movie till the end.

16. Jumanji: The Next Level
The fourth kid’s movies 2019 in the very famous movie franchise Jumanji, adapted from a 1981 children’s book, is going to be entertaining and one hell of a ride.
Plot: Spencer gets back into the game and is followed by his friends inside so that they can save him from the game. But this time the game is not behaving in the same way it is supposed to be and is now fighting back so now their experiences from the previous time when they were inside the game are useless. Now they have to navigate through all the dangers encountered without any prior knowledge.
Review: With great visuals and scenes, this movie is full of action and humor and is going to entertain you and your family to the fullest.

18. Spies in Disguise
This an animated kids spy comedy film directed by Troy Quane and Nick Bruno and produced by Blue Sky Studios. Will Smith and Tom Holland have given their voices to the lead characters.
Plot: Lance Sterling is an extrovert, suave, and smooth spy who goes on epic missions. Scientist Walter Beckett is the complete opposite of him with no social skills at all. He makes weapons and gadgets for Lance to go with to all those epic missions. But after a few unexpected events, Lance and Walter will have to help each other in different ways, will have to work as a team.
Review: A film that shows us the brotherly and friendly bond between the two main characters. This one is full of action and humor with a satisfying amount of emotional bonding scenes, which is not going to disappoint you.
